Our Community Energy & eV group is working together on a study conducted by Indigo Power’s analyst Nick Mason-Smith to explore the feasibility of having community batteries, similar to the one in Yackandandah in Bright, Mt Beauty, Myrtleford, Beechworth, Towong Shire and Tumbarumba. Called “The Aggregated Community Battery Project", if successful, the batteries will be set up to work together as a Virtual Power Plant and help manage our rapidly changing electricity grid and improve our resilience during catastrophic events. Bronwyn Westbrook represents the Alpine Shire and Dennis Lambert represents Sustainable Upper Ovens at bimonthly consultation meetings regarding this project. We look forward to reporting more on this study’s progress!
