Since 2014 the BCG community has grown and flourished, creating a self-sustaining, edible garden based predominantly on Permaculture and Water Saving Design principles. It includes a large food forest built on a swale system, zero chemical input, wicking beds, worm farms and a community waste composting system, providing a closed system cycling of nutrients for the garden.
BCG Working Bees are on the first Sunday of each month. During daylight savings months we meet at 8.30 am and for the rest of the winter months we meet at 2pm. Casual participation is welcomed. We share gardening skills & garden produce and have an abundance of fruit trees in our swales with veggies and herbs in our wicking beds. We can also host markets, food swaps and workshops. We are located behind the Anglican Church at the top of Church Street in Bright. We are tucked away but very central! Follow the sign on the church wall to find your way. You can join our Facebook group or call Katie on 0424 763434 for more information.
OUR SHARED VISION
To create an ever evolving, regenerative and productive garden that will provide opportunities for the Bright community to connect more closely with the Earth and with each other. It is a place where we can gather together to share our time, knowledge and skills and to better understand, respect and care for the world we live in, while generously contributing to the health and wellbeing of others.
