Since 2014 the BCG community has grown and flourished, creating a self-sustaining, edible garden based predominantly on Permaculture and Water Saving Design principles. It includes a large food forest built on a swale system, zero chemical input, wicking beds, worm farms and a community waste composting system, providing a closed system cycling of nutrients for the garden.
BCG Working Bees are every Thursday during daylight savings months from 5-7pm. For up-to-date information check our Facebook Page. Casual participation is welcomed and we share gardening skills & garden produce. We also host BBQ evenings and educational events and workshops.
We are located behind the Anglican Church at the top of Church Street in Bright. We are tucked away but very central! Follow the signs to find your way.
To create an ever evolving, regenerative and productive garden that will provide opportunities for the Bright community to connect more closely with the Earth and with each other. It is a place where we can gather together to share our time, knowledge and skills and to better understand, respect and care for the world we live in, while generously contributing to the health and wellbeing of others.
